I Shot A Man In Reno Just to Watch Him Die . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Monday, January 1, 2001 --  tigole

Viva 2001!

2000, Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. . .

2000 was a good year for LoS.  We managed to kill (in no particular order) Velketor, Lord Djindespiesuxacack, Nagafen, Vox, Zordak Ragefire, Gorenaire, Talendor, Severilous, Trakanon, Venril Sathir, Bazzt Zzzt, Sister of Spire, Spiroc Lord, Overking of Chardok, Queen of Chardok, Innoruuk, Maestro, Cazic Thule, Master Yael, Faydedar, Silverwing, Hoshkar, Xygoz, Druushk, Nexona, and Phara Dar.  All server firsts.  Bazzt Zzzt and Overseer of Air were EQ firsts.  Our clearing of Veeshan's Peak was an EQ third.  In the Epic Weapon department, we managed to secure the first rogue, warrior, ranger, druid, cleric, enchanter, necro, shaman, bard, and pally Epics on The Nameless.  We also tried the mighty shaman of Misty Thicket, Mooto, numerous times but alas the evil goblin defeated our forces with every attempt.  We'll get him this year though.

So on to the most current of events.  Let's see.  Thanks to a whopping cold I managed to miss my New Years Party.  Yesterday, I woke up in the morning, felt like I was dying, and just laid there till one in the afternoon.  Eventually, the dog got me out of bed and dragged me downstairs for a walk.  Then I remembered the nightmare that is Pasadena on New Years Eve.  First guy I run into is taking a piss right on my street.  Doesn't he know that pissing on my street in a drunken stupor is a right reserved for me and my friends only?  Anyway, I started to feel pretty bummed out becauae it was glaringly apparent that there was no way in hell I was going to make it to some New Years party as sick as I was.  I constantly hear people criticize Everquest.  My friend calls it, "That Dopey Game".  But the truth is thanks to EQ last night I actually got to "hang" with some people on New Years rather than just lying in bed, or staring at the garbage some fools watch on television.  We threw together a last minute Plane of Growth raid.  I think we had about 15 people.  It was a blast.

Just when you thought Joboba couldn't look any worse. . .

Joboba got new arms and boots.  Iaminae picked up some new sleeves she desperately needed.  Parv got a new helm (grats SSB).  And Sumak got some Silver Moon slippers.  The menory of Saldor lives on. . .

The day before was pretty fun too.  We had planned to kill the Dain.  All I can say is we rid Icewell Keep of that Dorf bastard.  But. . . .alas. . .we didn't kill he.  Somehow, somewhere the Dain poofed.  No, he did not go behind his curtain.  No, he did not get stuck in a stairwell.  The Dain Poofed.  As in, No Dain for us.  Quite frankly, it may have been in our best interest that the Dain poofed because we only had about 20 people there.  But we're anxious to fight him anyway. . .every battle, win or loss, is a learning experience.  We did kill Sensechal, not that it matters.  He dropped some shield.  Grats EC Tunnel~

Earlier that same day we killed Fool Turtle in Iceclad.  Congrats to Elppin and Galiaan on their new cloaks. Signel got the phat Turtle belt.  And one of our twinks now wields this toy:

Well, I am going back to being sick and miserable now.  Sorry I don't have much Uber l33t lewtz to post.  Thank god this Holiday business is officially over when the bell strikes midnight tonight.  With our people back from vacation, expect to see the whoop-ass you're accustomed to on this page.

Yes, yes. . .very late update today.  I'm starting to get sick so I've been resting, taking it easy. . .getting a soar throat.  Now I know how Despie feels everday.  Yesterday was a good day for the guild.  We added a new member, the lovely Ms. Cyni Barhopper.  Not only does Cyni have mad skeelz, she is a damage dealing machine AND she makes you all wish you were a rogue too so you'd get the excellent view I get every night, backstabbing with her:

As we wait for the return of many of our friends, we've been trying to help people finish their Epic Quests.  First stop last night was City of Mist.  We killed Lord Rak'Rastaman or whatever so that the great Barbarian King (according to some), Valmoon, could proudly wield his Epic Weap.  City of Mist is an odd zone.  I think it is truly one of the best looking dungeons in Kunark.  Just a shame there's no reason to go there.  It suffers from Chardok-itis.

Next stop was everyone's favorite zone, THE HOLE.  Oh how we love the HOLE.  If god existed, then the HOLE would be heaven.  Monkeys could fly.  Desp would not suck.  Well, actually, for all my bitching and whining about the Hole, yesterdays' journey there was pretty harmless.  We managed to scrounge up Poly's mob so he is one step closer to getting his phatty spear.  While down there I sent Ariel a tell, "Hey, you want me to check if Yael is up?"  Ariel replies, "Sure.  Just don't die."

Master Yael shouts, "TIGOLE!"

Tigole tells the guild, " Erm Yael up."

Guild replies, "Um, no shit."

If there is any mob more visually stunning then Master Yael, it would have to be the HUGE Water Elemental in L Guk:

Luckily the big brown mo faka dropped some nice lewts:

Meggan's new belt. . .

Well, I know I am going to break all your hearts when I tell you this, but I'm going to be gone tonight.  You all know what that means, probably no update tomorrow unless someone gets me some infoz for me.  I'm feeling sick as hell but a friend is having a shindig and it will be my last chance to see many of my homies before they leave town.  Tomorrow is Saturday anyway. . .go take your girlfriend out (even if she doesn't wear pants like Cyni Barhopper's).

Crouching Ogre, Dead Dragon

Down into Old Sebilis we went. . .another dragon to be slayed.  We're still entering the Donal's Breastplate Lotto every chance we get (nerf be damned) but we're having about as much success as a man trying to get a date with a professional female golfer.  Today's Trak run was not fun and I blame myself.  Last time I was the guy who went and agro'd the dragon not once, but twice before the charge.  If there's anything the guild loves, it's when I agro the dragon and they all get to sit an extra 30 minutes, cursing fool-rogue under their breath.  Unfortunately everything went smooth as silk and we only got to spend minimal time in everyone's favorite dungeon, Guk Senior.  Trakanon dropped two manna robes which were awarded to Medicd and Necrath.  Another notable thing about this Trakanon raid was that we figured out, finally, how to kill the dragon without having a single bard die.

We also found time to whack a fair number of Epic Quest mobs as well as a host of giants.  Random phat lewts of the day include two 20/30 bows for our rangers, a Fungal Staff for Mudcrush, a nice new cloak for Brionca, and a Torn Silk Robe for Llod's SoV armor quest.
